چکیده

Reliable Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of processes for valorization CO2-rich off-gas streams requires multidisciplinary contributions that span the development active and selective catalysts, reactor design, plant modeling optimization, as well environmental impact analysis. Herein, we present design study a CO2 through methanol-mediated (tandem) hydrogenation to light hydrocarbons, with propane most abundant product. A state-of-the-art PdZn/ZrO2 + SAPO-34 catalyst combination was screened catalytic activity selectivity in wide operation range. Optimal process conditions were found at 350 °C, 30–40 bar co-feeding CO2/CO. Kinetic parameters tandem reaction extracted used multi-layer reactor, where two catalysts are distributed according to: (i) CO2-to-methanol catalyst; (ii) mixed bed, and; (iii) methanol-to-hydrocarbons catalyst. This configuration outperformed conventional dual bed configurations terms design. suggested substantial decrease global warming production will be highly driven by using green hydrogen from either solar or wind sources, although comparison fossil-derived indicated already reasonable improvement even when grey natural gas.

Life cycle assessment and its application to process selection, design and optimisation

As the pressures on the chemical and process industries to improve their environmental performance are increasing, the need to move away from narrow system de®nitions and concepts in environmental system management is becoming more apparent. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is gaining wider acceptance as a method that enables quanti®cation of environmental interventions and evaluation of the improve...

New Concept in Leanness Development and Assessment in Plant Life Cycle (PLC)

Abstract: At the last decade of the 20th century, Womack et. Al introduced Lean concept to the industrial world. Since 1990 up to now, existed studies mostly have focused on lean production in the step of manufacturing, but in this research leanness concept has developed in the plant life cycle. In this paper leanness concept will be described as elimination of wastes in the phases of investmen...
